trade function and a radio item?

Recommended Posts

A trade function

-allow players to open up a trade window like in other mmo's. To trade ammo, food, rare guns, whatever. instead of greed kills, some players will go the trade route.

a radio item

-just like any of the other tools, it would be about as rare as maps are, so not to rare, but also not super common.

-having the item in your inventory enables access to a chat channel that only those with radio's can read/type in.

-this way players can negotiate trades, meetups for teaming up, etc.

-heres the catch, it has a range of say the distance from elektro to cherno. So if you talk to someone on this chat channel, you know there somewhat close. This also prevents the far away bandits from crashing the party.

-overall the radio would help both bandits and add to the paranoia, but it would also encourage teaming up/trading stuff.

Additional content

-maybe allow players to scavenge parts and build some type of antenna, that they could place on the ground just like barb wire, except standing near it triples the range of your radio.

Everyone wants radios, yes. I don't believe anyone is actually arguing against them. Coupled with the fact that there already is a radio handset in the base game, I suspect we'll be seeing them soon.

Also, as for trading, I believe that's not something the developers owe us. We have all of the tools to do it ourselves, here and now. Emergent gameplay for the win!
