rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 Hey guys, I am trying to first run my server, and had no issues getting it running. At least until I tried to locate it in the ARMA II server browser. For the first run I named it TESTSERVER, and I did see one person join it, but when I look myself I cannot for the life of me find it, nor direct connect to it.
howichrgelazer 69 Posted July 5, 2012 Providing an IP and port number would be more reliable to help us figure out what is going on. :)
rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 Oh sure thing, 96.234.66.254 port 2302
howichrgelazer 69 Posted July 5, 2012 Okay, so I do not see it running. Make sure you have port forwarding done in your firewall on the machine and as well as your router if you have control of it. Also make sure the server started on the machine okay (ie. you see the arma 2 oa console running and it's not spamming reading DayZ mission from bank)
rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks for the reply, I have opened the ports, and it is not spamming the console. The last line is 21:33:06 Host identity created.Which tells me it is waiting for someone to connect. I did see early today, Player XXX has joinedBattleye GUID XXXXX etcbut I like you still cannot find the server.
ynefel 38 Posted July 5, 2012 We had a similar issue when first getting our server running. For some reason, it would not show in the stock Arma II server browser. However, we were able to find it and join it using the Six Launcher. Weird.Interestingly, since then, it shows in Arma 2 browser and Six Launcher.Try see if you can find and join it with Six Launcher.

rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 I tried the six launcher and still no luck.@HowIChrgeLazerI am certain of the IP and port. I also have that line verbatim in my cfg file. From my BAT "-mod=EXPANSION\beta;EXPANSION\beta\Expansion;EXPANSION;ca;@dayz;@hive" "-ip=96.234.66.254" "-port=2302"I added the quotes as I was getting a port error. This solution was found on these boards.
howichrgelazer 69 Posted July 5, 2012 Yeah I still haven't seen it come up. Does it say port 2302 on the console window?
rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 Yes it does,The title bar shows, ArmA 2 OA Console version 1.6 : port 2302 - SOckets
howichrgelazer 69 Posted July 5, 2012 Hrrrm, yeah I'm not seeing a game server on 96.234.66.254:2302. So I would double check everything is installed correctly, all the right ports are opened in the windows firewall as well as the router. Also make sure you've got the 2005, 2008, 2010 vcredists installed for your OS.
rallye 89 Posted July 5, 2012 It's very strange because I normally run a Crysis Wars server from this box without issue. I am quite confused.

urbanfox 116 Posted July 5, 2012 Just add the server process to your firewall.
