Can not see my own server on the Lan

Recommended Posts

My setup.

My computer is running dayz, another pc is running Dayz server on the same network.

I installed the server, opened dayz, it saw the server, ran great. Connected several times.

Then I thought, I should configure stamina, I did, doing the steps in this tutorial.

Then I did the steps in this tutorial

After doing these two tutorials, I can not find my server on Lan, My friends can connect via internet just fine, but my pc can not find it. I have changed the ports from 2302-2306 to 24xx. I have reinstalled the dayz server. I have reinstalled Dayz client on my pc, I have uninstalled steam on my client and reloaded everything. Then i thought, Maybe I can be tricky, and I installed a VPN to make my network think I am an external connection, still didnt work.

What would be stopping me from seeing the game hosted on lan? I can see my arma 3 exile on the lan and connect.

So frustrating. Let me know if you guys have any idea. I have read all posts I can find on google, so a simple google search and throwing a link as a reply will probably not get me very far.

PS. I Think the VPN worked, because now I can see the server under the community tab :)

I figured I would leave this here as a work around, for any other poor souls who runs into this issue.
