Ive been reading some about if and when DayZ goes retail would it be pay2play or not and an idea struck me. What is there were a "safe zone" in the game, a camp or outpost or secure town where survivors...(if they could make it there) could meet other players, eqip or purchase DLC.

I really love the "survival" aspect of this game so i wouldnt want things to be too easy but i think a retail version of this game would be a bit different anyway. Maybe there could be "in game money" and how much you find dictates how much "real world money" you could spend on DLC. or supplies.

But more than that a social "safe" (or semi-safe) area would be great for meeting other players, forming teams...trading and im sure many other interesting social developments i cant even fathom.....jut a thought.

cheers and thanks for your great work developer/s

This is a common idea, and I don't see what the developers have to do with anything. Short of implementing a way to fortify the area to keep zombies out, and coding it to where zombies don't spawn so randomly and evenly, I feel like all of that burden falls on us. We DO NOT need DLC content, what the hell is this, EA Games?

your right about the players forming the safe haven but theres been discussions about when/if this game goes standalone how to avoid having a pay to play system. Im saying if the developers are eventually going to charge us to play (more than purchase cost) it might be interesting to integrate it into the game somehow. Create an in game economy. Or not. its just an idea albeit a common one. And i dont know much about EA games...are they stupid or something?

The post is about alternative ways to charge money for this game/mod...which will eventually happen.

The joke goes,

"Click right-trigger to bring you to the in-game purchase screen, to purchase your next bullet for 200 Microsoft points."
