Survival aspects

Recommended Posts

Hi development team! I am very pleased that, finally, Day Z, after exactly five years, moved to the status of "release". The wait was very long and painful. And it so happened that the game has changed for the better. However, in many respects, the community (at least the Russian-speaking one) emits a feeling of indignation, since some of the strengths of the game are ineffective or the ways of their realization are rather strange. I want to try to write what I mean
1) Hunting. Hunting is very interesting in the game, and I am very interested in this. But the fact is that, unfortunately, due to the fact that there is enough food in big cities and very few zombies, this is why most players do not worry about food. And, therefore, a big element of survival is lost.
2) Distribution of zombies on the map. Why do zombies live only in human settlements and military bases, and besides, there are few of them? But what about the convoy? so many cars, and where could people go? Have they become zombies? It would also be interesting to see some zombies, like in your mobile game, that “sleep” under the foliage and suddenly wake up. Or rise from a pile of corpses scattered around the map. It is also quite interesting, the migration of zombies to neighboring settlements on the roads, in search of food (but not all at once) and their interaction (one zombie shouted, others heard, ran after him).
3) Distribution of equipment. The fact is that there is no distribution of equipment at all. (It is difficult for me to speak about this in English, but I will try, I hope everything will be clear). Earlier you said that digital binding is like putting things in your pocket. But this is nonsense! How can I quickly get the thing that is in the backpack? That's why I came up with one system. 3.1) split inventory slots into individual pockets (Something similar to this https://photos.app.goo.gl/DyPryxb6rnZxF8dTA), with the ability to link them with any key. In addition to the backpack. In addition, if a person wears a vest that covers the pocket, tying the pocket to the key is disabled. Thus: it is impossible to shove large objects in a vest and so-called “inaccessible pockets” appear. Also, the player will have to think about how to properly distribute equipment. (This is taken from the military practice of military personnel, for example: (https: //www.youtube.com/watch? V = QepHteuuRMQ), in the English version there is a term: "Lines of military equipment").
4) Hunger / thirst. Also absurd phenomenon. The fact is that it works very silly. Why does a character who drank half a liter of water, having run literally around 500-700 meters, again begins to experience keen thirst? With food about the same. I have experience in tourist and military sports trips, and all this causes me at least a misunderstanding. Personally, during the trip (the longest 25-day walk in the forest and two passes through the passes at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level) I drank at least a flask (0.75 liters) in an uncomfortable situation, ideally - 2-3 flasks. Meals 3 meals a day (in the morning porridge / tea / sweet, in the afternoon: soup / porridge / tea /, in the evening: porridge / tea / sweet). In addition, every day a certain stock of dried fruit or chocolate was allocated for snacking on the go to satisfy hunger (which usually caught up with us an hour before a regular meal). And the character looks like a naughty child. And one of the ways out of this situation is to leave the same amount of food only in cities and villages, at military bases, but create more zombies that protect the food. But the consumption of food and water decreases.
I think that if you imagine such things, then survival will play a huge role in this interesting and promising game. I am tired, like many others, of meaningless PvP and similar things. (Well, do not forget about mistakes!) I sincerely believe in day Z and wish you continued success! I hope you will not fail.

P.S. If you are reading this, please write at least some answer. And I sincerely hope that there were no problems with the understanding of the text.
