Deleting map notes? Direct Channel notes?

Couple of quick questions.

I know double clicking on the map (with notes selected) will allow you to type a note on the map. Once it is set there, how do you delete it?

Also, I set a note on the map while under the direct comm channel, so the people in my group around me could see it. I'm just wondering now, can anyone else see it if they get close to that area, or close to me? Not sure what the note is tied to exactly, my location or the object location.
