DirectX error?

Hey all,

Super excited that the server files are out, and really anxious to get my own server up and start tinkering. I'm having an issue getting the server to start up. And i think the issue is a DirectX one.

I'm running the server in a guest windows 10 Pro VM, using a virtIO/NVC graphics driver.

Upon launching i get an error:

The Code execution cannot proceed because XAPOFX1_5.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

The only info i can find on that file was for other games, but they all seemed to point to direct X, hence my hunch.

It looks like i have dx12 installed, not really sure where to go from here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

just google download directX and install worked for me

Just wanted to come back with my solution incase anyone runs in to the same problem.

installing directx 9.0 seems to have fixed the issue.

I was able to use the direct x web installer located here:
