Airfields are good to raid for semi-decent gear. The chances of being killed there are extremely high. It's advised to enter in with some gear, with mates, or just be a really stealthy ninja.

The airfield is a hot PvP zone, with all the military high-tier weapons spawning there.

It's also a very open area, which means you are very, very, VERY easy to spot and just gun down. Because, remember, in the airfield, there's always a guy in a ghillie suit with a m24.

you can get shot everywhere on the map if you loose your cover.

survival on a trip like this depends on your approach. if you run up the runway with a flare, expect to get a clean headshot any second.

if you take cover and sneak up from behind, the outcome can be way more rewarding.

maybe you should try and see what happens?

Allot of people forget that you do not have to empty the whole airfield. I normaly just go for the northern barracks, because it is the easiest to sneak up to, and get away from.

But yes, that place is a hellhole, and greed will get you killed really fast.

As you enter the airfield keep your eye on roofs etc just be alert and you will be fine.

Airfields are dangerous, period. They're wide open and popular loot spots. However, they're relatively safe if you follow a couple rules:

1. Stay the hell off the runway. NWA has a forest - go through that, always. Yes, snipers will be watching it, but you'll have a much better survival chance than if you approached by the open area.

2. If you're gonna hit the hangers, hit the back first, then the front. Not only will you be away from the giant open door, but you'll be facing the direction of any attack.

3. Speed. Get in, get out - don't hit every building and corner, just grab what you can and go. Look at a map and see what you'll hit, and know exactly what route you'll take. Don't take risks with the zombies or the snipers.

4. For God's sake, stay PRONE on the top floor of the ATC. You will be shot, mercilessly, if you run around that tiny glass box upright.

5. Use a group. Best way to fight snipers is countersnipers, and the best way to not get shot is have someone else next to you for the sniper to chose.

6. Check ahead. Are there zombies on the airfield before you get within spawn distance? Someone's there. Use caution approaching the airfield.

I tried that on UK9, got myself into the barracks, only for a prone bandit to wait for me to leave....he shot me, yet I killed about 10+ Z's to help him too. GRR

Personally, not worth it for me.... Stary sobor's not as bad, and berezino is kind of overlooked. Never actually found any good gear at NW airfield. All my gear came from stary/balota/other random shit.

Airfield is one of the biggest death traps for sure. Be careful.

Unfortunately, if there's some sniper lying around in a ghillie a mile away you probably won't notice it before it's too late
