Lowering your weapon

So I noticed that the usual way (in vanilla Arma2) to lower your weapon from the ready stance (double-tap ctrl) doesn't work in this mod. Is there another way to do this? I seem to remember watching a video clip of a survivor doing the silly looking crouch walk with their weapon lowered...

Seems like this might help with those tense meetings of strangers.

Just press Ctrl twice when you are not aim/zoomed in.

As Flarin said, double tap ctrl. You can't do it with pistols though.

Nope.

It works just like in A2. You just can't lower your secondary weapon. I think I actually survived a lot of times because I either lowered my weapon or saluted.

That's so weird, I am an experienced Arma player and I know the double-tap ctrl (it was in the original post)

It just doesn't seem to work for me, maybe because I only have a Makarov? I'm going to log in now and try again...

You can't lower your secondary weapon. You never could (I'm surprised you didn't know this as a veteran). That's the reason you fall off ladders when you climb them with a pistol.

Actually you can raise your hand gun. Once you move it goes back to normal tho. Hit g then g again to close the menu, your handgun should be raised.

Never really had the desire to use pistols before this mod, now that you reminded me I can access my gear and just not raise my weapon afterwards, thanks dudes!

To show another survivor you're friendly. Much like in real life, people generally don't appreciate it when you point the barrel of firearm directly at them.
