Trouble Joining Server

I have searched many threads and have not had any luck trying to find a solution.

I down loaded DayZ for the first time this evening. I seem to have installed it properly, at the main page i get the Arma II DayZ message.

I launch via steam and use combined operations.

When I try to join a DayZ server I get the one of two messages.

The one I get the most is-

Bad Version, server rejected connection

The second one I get sometimes is-

You can not play/edit this mission, it is dependent on dowloadable content.

In live chat it was recomended to me that I get the latest arrowhead patch which i did but made no difference.

Thanks for the help and is there a forum search button that I failed to locate?

One more question, is there a way to play in single player so I can see if the mod is working properly?

1) Double check your game client is up-to-date.

2) Double check your DayZ mod is up-to-date.

3) Double check the servers you are joining are on the same version.

I am not very computer savvy so bear with me please.

1. Is game client Arma II and Operation Arrowhead? If so both are up to date.

2. I just down loaded the mod this evening so its the latest version. How can i confirm what version I have?

Game client = Arma2 Combined Operations. (So Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead).

When you open six launcher it should automatically display that you either need to check files or update them, when you have the DayZ mod selected in it, it will tell you the version of your mod.

It's possible it could be purely a server-side issue.

If you're not using SixLauncher... I recommend it.

I agree, use sixlauncher. It sounds like an installation issue.

If you do decide to do it manually (dont know why you would)

1. @Dayz map off the latest version needs to be in the operation arrowhead folder.

2. You need the latest Arma2 beta patch from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/, installation guide can be found on the forum here.

3. If you are using steam it needs a launch command, check the other installation guide on how to get that working.

4. DayZ is tricky to install, don't give up! The game is awesome!

(but seriously use sixlauncher, it fixes all the little errors you might have made)
