How come I cant use BAF & PMC with DayZ ?

Iv read on forum that if you have them, you'll get better zombie models and other stuff, but if i have them installed, i cannot join servers, it gives me :"to play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys" error..

whats up with that, also why cant i disable them in game menu but have to uninstall ..

Im not 100% on this but i think you get all the multiplayer functions of those 2 expansions with combined ops. Buying them will only gain you the single player campaigns. Again im not 100% so dont shoot me if im wrong :p.

yes i had both of them and was unable to join any server until i had them removed...

Strange. I have both of them. I have Arma II CO. Everything together works fine. BAF and PMC are on at startup. I use Arma II launcher to get DayZ and the Beta going at startup too.

hello, i had the same problem i was lucky enough to get help from Dwarden that fixed it.. i had to re-install everything though first and then did these steps..

exit STEAM

start STEAM via "run as administrator"

run once ARMA 2, exit it

run once OA, exit it

now goto OA folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\STEAM\STTEAMapps\Common\ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead\PMC\

erase that folder (or it's content)

then run PMC from the STEAM's games list

you should see installer doing some file operations

if you have BAF, do the same with \BAF\

and that's it, should work fine

the only issue is when there are some keys not written

hence why i always recommend use the context menu option "run as administrator" to start STEAM

Unfortunately, this shows how Steam sucks big time. I evaded getting Arma II from Steam by buying it direct from Bohemia Interactive. You have much better control over your installation. Steam just creates stupid issues.

I will give it a try, but my BAF and PMC are not steam versions ...

Yes, seems like because my BAF and PMC are not steam version, i cant use them with DayZ...

hopefully bohimea will refund me the DLCs and i can buy them from steam ..

The BAF and PMC Sprocket versions work with Steam.

I had the same problem. I have Arma2: CO from steam and just bought BAF and PMC from bohemia. After installing, dayz stopped working.

My solution was to patch Arma2:CO with patch 1.60 again, wich updates BAF and PMC. Everything is fine now.

I had the exact same problem, it was giving me the "to play on this server, remove listed files or install additional accepted keys" error and it listed all the files. I use the non-steam version. Eventually I found the fix, I just updated PMC and BAF and now it works perfectly with much better models and textures. Here are the links the the updates:

I heard re applying the 1.60 patch would fix this since PMC and BAF files get updated in 1.60

downloaded 160 update and updated on top of everything, it solved the issue, thank you very much for your help everyone
