No error message, can't troubleshoot.

First of all, I bought ArmaII CO through Steam.

Okay so about a week ago, my Steam client stopped working after a thunder storm. I couldn't start the client and it only came up with a weird code error about a blob(???). I didn't really care because I was launching DayZ with the Six Launcher.

Fast forward to yesterday. I wanted to play Portal 2 with a friend, which meant I had to uninstall Steam and re-install the Steam client.

Yesterday afternoon I had re installed ArmaII CO, everything went fine. I launched ArmaII and ArmaII OA to go through pre-play configuration and all that.

Now today I tried to play DayZ using the Six Launcher. I can access servers, I can load into the multiplayer configuration screen, but as soon as I reach the Character creation screen, it takes me back to the Title menu. There is no error or anything. Trying to play from the game itself (outside of Six Launcher) doesn't work either.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

~Ethan

Hey thanks! I'll look into that.

It's probably worth mentioning that I didn't have this problem before re-installing.

I decided to do a hard restart and deleted/uninstalled everything related to DayZ including config files and all that. Hopefully when everything is back up it wont give me any trouble.

That's what I did. Erase and start over.

- Install ArmaII

- Run as Admin

- Install OA

- Run OA as Admin

- Run Combined Ops as Admin

- Install beta

- Run all three programs again because I really don't know what the heck the patch is patching...

- Install DayZ files

I run combined ops from a desktop shortcut to a file called %steampath%\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\_runA2CO_beta.cmd

I added the -mod=@DayZ to the RUN section of that command file. When I run that file, under the ARMAII logo at top right, I get entries for ARMAII, DayZ, beta and Expansion. At the bottom right the last number should match the beta version.

I don't know if this how they recommend, but it worked. Install one thing at a time and run it to see if it is working.

Feel free to message me on here if you hit a wall. Good luck.

If he uses Sixupdate then the beta patch will be installed trough it. You might want to consider deleting the @DayZ folder in operation arrowhead folder. Deinstalling sixupdater (it still has glitches from time to time) Reinstalling sixupdater and installing DayZ fresh from the launcher.

I Don't anticipate anything going wrong after doing all that.
