They are running the arma 2 beta patch. Google it or use the sixlauncher thing if you aren't sure what to do/confident that you can figure out how to work it out manually.

I am also curious. The newest version right now is 94444. I tried to manually install it but there was no effect. I still get rejected from servers running the last patch. Does anyone care to extrapolate on how exactly one updates this "ArmA 2 Beta"?

You need to replace the arma2OA.exe in the main Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead folder, with the one in the beta folder. I recommend renaming the original to Arma2OA(base).exe or something along those lines as then if you mess up then you have a revert point.

I got arma 2: CO after the beta patch for Arma. So I'm good. :D

Probably not, on two counts:

1) The base game is unlikely to have a "beta" patch pre-installed.

2) New beta patches are released for ARMA2 with a fair amount of regularity. So even if #1 were not true, then unless you downloaded the game in the last day or so then you would still be unlikely to have the latest patch.
