Rinner23 5 Posted July 3, 2012 I'm not sure if this is an Exploit, bug, or proper game mechanic. But is it true that only the original person who looted a tent can ever pack that tent up and move it?If so.. then what is stopping any player who already has a tent from finding another tent, instantly setting it up and thus preventing another player from moving/placing that tent? The purpose of this is to seemingly 'lock' the tent to the looting player, even if they have no intention of using it until some later time (for example, after their 'other' tent is somehow destroyed?).This question came up because I found 5 tents sitting outside the supermarket in a town last night.. all empty.. and I thought, who in their right mind would place a tent in clear view.. unless their intention is to simply prevent other players from placing/moving the tent for their own purposes?Thoughts? Lachmayne 2 Posted July 3, 2012 Tents despawn after a player dies. If you can stay alive you can place as many tents as you like. The map is so big and tents are so small. I don't think this is an issue.

WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 3, 2012 I honestly never cared for the whole "only the person who set-up the tent can dismantle it" thing, anyway. With all the ways this game strives realism and tries to avoid magical effects as much as possible, I want to know what mystical force is stopping me from dismantling and making-off with some guy's tent? The risk of it being stolen should just be part of setting it up. You can set it up, you can store your stuff in it, just know that it might not be there when you get back if there's no guard. If the items can be freely stolen then why not the tent itself? If anything, tents should either 'logout' with the character or in no way be locked to a character.
