Ban for Server Hopping / Ghosting

Recommended Posts

Thinking about setting up a server.

Can we ban exploiters of Server hopping or ghosting?

For those that don't know, server hopping is when you hop from server to server staying in a high loot area (such as barracks)

Ghosting is when you join another server to move into position and rejoin previous server to get jump on unsuspecting enemy.

Man. You touch on some touchy subjects here.

They are so antiban for specific things, now your saying we should have the ability to ban for server jumping?

Last night I was so pissed, all the hive issues forced a server crash. I restarted the server and was by myself for roughly 5 minutes. I stumbled across a helicopter crash and started to take out the zombies. Now im in the middle of no where. Just north of stary sober. There was to the best of my knowledge NO ONE in the server. I start to investigate the crash and then I get shot. Im like WTF!! This guy spawned in and within seconds killed me. Should I have the ability to now ban him because he spawned into the server right next to this helicopter crash site?

Honestly, Im on your side. But I think that all TOS expectations should be lifted and server owners should have the ability to host how they see fit. Personally, Id like to drop my server down to 10ppl or have the ability to lock it.

I don't think players should be banned for server hopping, but other players in the area really need some sort of warning. Just the other day I was by a heli crash and a play logged in right next to me and shot me. I feel there should be some sort of warning system if a player logs in near your position. Maybe a sound.

Server hopping into a high loot zone, kick them. Repeat offenders, Ban them.
