Cannot play DayZ. Screen freezes on main menu but audio and mouse still working

I recently installed DayZ on my new computer and when I started DayZ up, nine times out of ten the screen would freeze on the alpha disclaimer. I can still hear audio and click on things with my mouse but the screen refuses to unfreeze. I googled for solutions but one has yet work. I tried restarting my computer, reinstalling DayZ, starting steam as admin, verifying cache, editing my .cfg, reinstalling my graphics driver. Nothing. I've been trying to solve this problem for a good five hours already and I'm getting desperate for a fix, so any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My specs are:

 

Intel i7-6700k 4.0 Ghz

MSI nVidia GeForce GTX 980ti

16 gigs DDR4 RAM

1TB Samsung 850 EVO SSD
