Mr.Giggles 0 Posted July 3, 2012 I personally think we should change the soda can textures and descriptions to something other than a real companies soda or something like that because as this is getting more and more popular its more and more likely that the mod people could get slapped with a lawsuit over that and this would crush me i would hate for it to happen. Also on another note i think that camouflage fatigues and ghillie suits should reduce your visibility to zombies if your going prone or crouch walking maybe do different degrees with each type? I would really like other opinions on this as well though!
WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 3, 2012 I don't think Pepsi or Coke can do anything unless Rocket starts charging for the mod; and I don't think that the cost on the base game counts. That said, trademark laws are so fucked-up, backwards, and just all-around strange, that it's entirely possible they could charge for the mod and they still couldn't sue over it. Mr.Giggles 0 Posted July 3, 2012 True i didn't think of that it's more that i'm just trying to look out for the mod because i love it alot! Anyway what do you think about the camouflage idea?
WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 3, 2012 Oh right, didn't notice that. I would say it's fine as-is. You can already get pretty damn close to a zed even while moving (edit: while prone, of course); and while motionless I had a zed walk literally right next to me without aggroing... though that didn't stop me from sweating a few buckets while he slowly shambled by. :x

rovenkursk 4 Posted July 3, 2012 Camo and ghillie suits are powerful enough, it makes it very hard for players to see you. If, on top of that, zombies have a hard time seeing you... would be to unbalanced. Would be so much harder to play without camo on.
Mr.Giggles 0 Posted July 3, 2012 Yah that makes sense but i just thought since its supposed to obscure your view why wouldn't it obscure your view for zombies and im only talking about like in the grass not in citys and only when your prone
WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 3, 2012 Yah that makes sense but i just thought since its supposed to obscure your view why wouldn't it obscure your view for zombies and im only talking about like in the grass not in citys and only when your proneThe easy answer: Because the camo and ghillie were only meant as PvP bonuses. The technical answer: It's probably too hard (or impossible) to program the zombie AI to see you better or worse based on your clothing. So even if it's possible, probably not worth the effort when there are actual issues to fix.

The system would simply calculate if you have a camo on, if you do then it would adjust your ear and eye symbol accordingly.

You might be in an area where you feel you should be invisible, but oops! The game doesn't realize this because you're considered to be a different type of terrain than you're actually on, so the zombie sees you anyway.Besides, as I already mentioned, zombies can already get pretty damn close to you while you're motionless and prone. Even while moving during prone you have a pretty generous amount of room to play with.

alcatraz968 100 Posted July 7, 2012 Rocket said in another post that he would be removing the soda names. As for camo effecting Zombie view distances (of you), Great Idea. Amazed it has not been implemented.
WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 7, 2012 You know, as long as the pop is gonna be changed, maybe change this into a suggestion for some generic Grape Soda? I fucking love grape soda. Srsly.

My friends always pester me about why Coke and Pepsi are in English.
