Condork 2 Posted July 3, 2012 I used to play a game which punished people who Alt+F4'd during or not long after combat.I think implementing some sort of punishment like an auto detection, if someone is shot upon and the bullets are within a certain range of there body/character or if they are hit or hit someone and they Alt + F4 or disconnect somehow that when they relog on any server they are spawned somewhere like a cell and will be stuck in there for 30 minutes.I've seen this done on San Andreas Multiplayer, very old game but they still managed to code such thing, anyone think this is possible + good idea? jesquik 75 Posted July 6, 2012 I didn't play San Andreas MP but this is likely the most fair way to stop disconnecting without hurting players not intending to glitch the system. There was a very good thread on this same thing recently, with a bit more detail. OP you should search for it and post a link to your thread, it will help get both ideas more views.I myself have used many disconnecting methods in order to understand their effectiveness, and they are without a doubt breaking the game.1) Zombie aggro? Why waste your precious ammo, just disconnect!2) Want to get through town quick? Run full sprint, then see #13) Player shooting at you? Just prone and disconnect!(And my favorite that I have seen but have not been able to reproduce)4) Player kill you? Just disconnect, no body left to loot!As an alpha we are expected to find the holes in the game so that they can be fixed, and this is by far the worst thing affecting the game right now. I hope this is the reason that 1.7.2 is taking so long.

Specter911 2 Posted July 9, 2012 First Alt +F4 / DC = 30 min timeout.Second = 60 min.Third = 3 Hours.Fourth = 8 Hours.Fifth = 24 Hours.More feedback please? Thank you.I disagree and what the above people saying "why not post in one of the other threads" without providing an example, fuck you.Suggestion forum is used for making thoughtful posts not some place to get your post count up.I disagree because they still are able to keep their items, as well with a system like this, it seems it would reduce the penalty as time passes without disconnecting often(as it would be ridiculous without it being lowered in a specific time, as some people do genuinely d/c from time to time) which would allow the cheap to d/c at least once every set time period.I believe in having your body linger 30 seconds after you have logged out with any zombies chasing you able to hit you, but any zombies not aware of you, remain unable to be aware of you incase you do d/c near zombies.I can't recall where I originally heard of this idea however. So I can't link to it, but instead I have stated it to you, so you know what other ideas have been tossed out there instead of having to look for the best one out of all the threads.
