Question about server hosting rules

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

can someone explain why using admin log for other purposes than just tracking cheaters is not allowed like written in server hosting rules:

"You may not perform the following actions on your server:

Use Admin Logs for any purpose other than server tracking exploiters/cheaters".

How is this harmful to show information about players' activity (kills, deaths, etc.) in our website? We are not showing any sensitive information about players.

Moreover, showing kills/deaths is much more effective way to see who is cheating (e.g. unusual amount of kills for a short time period) than manually downloading log file and scrolling through over more than half million lines all day.

Even if that was not seen by ourselves, then other players can inform us about unusual activity, so in some sort it helps us to protect against cheating in much more effective way.

Furthermore, showing some statistics in our website encourages DayZ players to compete each other to be "the best player/team". It is more interesting to play and know how much people you killed, who was killed, etc.
