M4A1 has no handguard, can't attach a new one

Sorry, I can't find anything about this problem and reddit isn't helping either. Here's the dealio:

 

I found an M4A1. I was really happy. I took it home, and tried to switch the standard handguard out with an RIS one I found. For some reason, no matter how many times I dragged the RIS over to the standard and clicked "swap handguard" it wouldn't work. I figured the RIS got glitched in my inventory so I exited the game and came back. The M4A1 now has no handguard at all on it, and no matter how many times I drag the handguards over to it and click swap, they won't attach. I have 4 M4 handguards so I tried them all, and none of them worked.

 

How do I fix this?

u shouldnt be able to swap if theres no handguard attached. if .58 try following:

 

gun on back, hands empty

doubleclick handguard

should be in your hands now

attach new handguard
