DayZ Launcher Not Working

Downloaded DayZ Launcher, paths, etc all correct. Go to the download mod area, click download but nothing downloads. It didn't request permission too go through my firewall either. I have Windows 8. Don't know what to do.

I'd like to state I found the solution. And for any having the same issue, try forcing it to download via http in the settings.
