"Connecting Failed" Using Dayz Launcher

Hi everyone,

 

After coming back to the game after almost a year away, I was able to get DayZ Launcher working fine. However, a buddy of mine hasn't had the same luck. He has had Arma 2 and Arma 2 OA installed for quite sometime, and recently downloaded the mod through steam as well as DayZ launcher. While trying to connect to any server, he gets the "Connecting Failed" message. 

 

I have tried to troubleshoot some of this with him and come up empty handed. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

 

I followed most of the fixes for this online but nothing seems to work. The posts I see ARE from 2 years ago so that may be part of the problem.

If DayZ Launcher doesn't work for him, tell him to run Arma 2 OA with the launch options example: -mod=@DayZ_Epoch;@DayZOverwatch for overpoch. You can simply google the launch parameters, or options that each mod has. Often times the server website will tell you these somewhere on the forums. If you are interested in playing the vanilla mod, simply just download the "Arma 2 DayZ Mod" on steam, it's free.
