Military base

Can someone give me directions to the military base?

What city/town is it near?

I am probably being really dumb, but i cannot find it on my map.

there is more than one. Do a search on the forums or google for a map for DayZ

i dont know which base you mean. there's balota (soutch coast), stary sobor (central) and NW airfield with big military loot.

firestations (in cherno, elektro 2x, berezino) and deer stands have also military loot.

By military base you probably mean the infamous, huge airfield situated north-west on the map. It has two barracks with above average loot. You can find military grade loot there. But it's a matter of risk versus reward as there's a lot of players prowling in the woods with their snipers and silenced rifles. ;)

I have seen clips of people at a military base with lots of tents, towers and surrounded by sandbags.

Where is that?

I have been to the airfield in the North and its not there.

You're probably thinking of the Balota medical camp, south of the airstrip. It sucks. The only real loot is from the 4 deer stands at each corner of the camp.
