butternut 5 Posted July 3, 2012 Yes black list them off their own DB that will teach them.....oh wait. You clearly know nothing and yet were able to use so many words still. You do know that a "blacklist" does not necessarily mean a programmatic ban' date=' correct?I.e., he's asking players to not play on unofficial servers... would it have been easier for you to understand if he'd have said "boycott" instead? It's always so humorous when someone declares another's ignorance when proudly displaying their own, simultaneously.Well done, sir.[/quote']No.
LukeMurawski 0 Posted July 3, 2012 The protesters above are from clan/group called "Team Awesome", who seem to have some sort of rivalry with L. First of all, the admin did not spawn any vehicles. He looked for a suitable one with his heli. The admin himself stated that he cannot spawn vehicles, but he actually made this game a little bit fun by giving us rides on the heli to our destination. On a side note:This mod is depressing as hell. Everyone is a bandit-- hell, there are more bandits than zombies. Zombies kill people through walls and walk through collision hulls of static objects, fail steam overlay triggers a key held event, and the mod is choked full of ridiculous rules that scare off admins and modders alike. To the DayZ dev team:https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Main_PageYou see that? That is Valve's Developer wiki. Valve gives you the complete source code to HL2 including a dedicated modding wiki and freedom to customize. They don't choke server administrators with silly rules. Maybe if you gave the admins who spend money to host your mod some more freedom (like Valve does), your mod would become more successful. Valve realized that and became a multibillion dollar company, yet you people fail to realize something so simple.DayZ itself is an example. As an Arma II mod, DayZ brought the game nearly 10-fold more $$$. Uniqueness and creativity keep players coming. If the rule-makers can't realize such a simple thing, that's a financial fail. Give your admins more freedom, and don't blacklist amazing and fun servers. Learn from Valve. Also, your forum has image issues. From the looks of the source code, it looks like you are using the php/mysql forum software called MyBB. Fix the postbit_image issue.
Tallpoppy 19 Posted July 4, 2012 Wow just wow.you really need to learn reading not just seeing the words on the screen but UNDERSTAND them.that wooshing sound isn't the heli overhead its the sound of you missing the point of this completely.I spoke with "L" after the incident' date=' and the only thing he could feel afterwards is incredible disappointment towards not being able to help out the new players who had been dying rapidly on the server. I feel bad that this happened to him, and that the symbolic gesture that there is no cameraderie in DayZ was a major morale destroyer for all involved.[/quote']http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4581in this thread there is a guy who while working on ANY server goes out and give medical assistance to those who need it. all while being on the Battlefield deathmatch Hive servers. Fix the postbit_image issue.Valve doesn't have a game on source which features character persistence across servers and I'm sure if they did they'd have similar requirements or not allow player run servers at all.
