Server NY47 Drop-Killed

On the morning of July 3rd, 2012 at around 2:30 Eastern Standard Time a hacker/hackers made all the players in the server die by doing a rather popular form of server wiping known as Drop-Killing.

I myself witnessed a great number of the players being killed by the hackers (I do believe there were more than one) in the spawn areas, and when I managed to slip away into the forest West of Elektrozavodsk, one appeared in a nearby field, fully armed, and seemingly knew exactly where I was since he immediately turned and started approaching my position. He shot me twice and then seemingly lost interest and ran back down the hill, only to disappear again.

I left afterwards, and now am going to work on my *new* character after a little while just to make sure it doesn't happen again in a server I'm in. How frustrating that would be. I know that it's probably not possible for moderators in servers or this forum to reimburse all the lost items that the 40-something players in NY47 lost, but hopefully some kind of solution can be made so it doesn't happen again.

lol It's funny you reported this guy, because we just had the same thing happen 1 hr later on the exact same server. I am glad you reported it - we got his name and everything.

Maybe there is still hope that slowly these "clever" fellows can be pushed out of our functioning, decent servers. We'll just have to see.
