miamiheat87 0 Posted July 3, 2012 Someone the other day mentioned that the faster you run the faster you get hungry or thirsty. I was wondering where he got his source of information. Is there something credible to this? I will only walk long distances if the amount of hungar I save is more than the amount of hungar I would have running the same exact distance. RachetSmurf 2 Posted July 3, 2012 I think it does a little, but not as much as thirst.
SystemiK 366 Posted July 3, 2012 I've heard this, and it seems like it does, but I have never seen it mentioned officially. Only way to tell for sure would be to sit still and time eating to flashing, and then time it again while sprinting.OK, so who's gonna volunteer for the timer test? Sephka (DayZ) 51 Posted July 3, 2012 If you aren't moving, you don't really get thirsty or hungry. I don't even know if it goes down at ALL while you aren't moving. When you're running across the map though it goes down fairly quickly. What I want to know is if sprinting, as opposed to running makes it go down faster. I imagine it would, but then again you can't sprint for very long anyway before it turns into normal running.
Kolchak (DayZ) 5 Posted July 3, 2012 Yes, the more you move the more your food and water meter go down. If you're thirsty, you will get hungry much faster. Being that water is so much easier to get than food, it's best to stay hydrated.

That is some incredibly valuable information.Maybe I just haven't gone over the entire thing and I'm missing some things, but it seems like some stuff isn't on the wiki that should be. miamiheat87 0 Posted July 4, 2012 I will test it out if I have the spare time, but I doubt I will be able too. Saying that you get hungry faster when your thirsty is quite the statement. However, I still don't know if I'm hearing game changing information such as using HDR to make night more visible or camp fire rumors suvivors pass around that haven't been tested.
