An Advanced Communications Network

I have yet to be able to try out DayZ, but I am in love with what I see so far. I have been on a gameplay vid binge for the past couple days, and I have a few ideas that I think could make the whole experience better.

Note: If someone else has started a thread on my ideas, please tell me.

First of all is the global chat. That may be temporary for now, I do not know, but I hope so, because it seems to be in conflict with the immersion I believe the game is going for.

That doesn't mean it should be taken out all together though. In fact a global chat doesn't sound like a bad idea, but you should have to earn it. I suggest a radio or computer system, where you can find and or build devices that allow you to connect to a global comm system. Stationary and non-stationary devices could be put in place, and maybe make for a very sought after area. This could lead to the players making "safe havens" themselves and building communities around the chat network. On the other hand, it could mean that groups would seek after it for themselves, and keep it from anyone else for both their safety and the lack of safety for those around them. This may be a bit in-depth and complex for most players to establish, but if established, it seems as though it could add a whole new goal to the game. Communication.

Not all the networking has to be this complex though, simply having nameplates would be great, and could definitely change PvP a bit. I suggest a system that places a nameplate on someone if you have met them as a friendly, and if not met as a friendly, place an icon above their heads. Let's face it, the skins are relatively not very diverse, and having a simple callsign to go by could allow people to identify those they could identify by facial patterns in real life.

On the flip side of adding friends however, there are the enemies and bandits people come across. At this point it seems like their is little to gain by being friendly compared to killing and taking resources for yourselves and group. I suggest a bounty system that could be used via the network that I explained before, or a way for people to mark the target for everyone else. Witness someone murdered? Place a target on that person, or a drop on the network and they will be risking more by every person they kill.

These ideas may be a bit too confusing or impractical for this game and the devs, but if not, I would think they could add a huge factor into the game.
