Shared CD Key Issues

My friend lent me his Steam account temporarily to try out Day Z before purchasing it myself. Upon buying the game myself today, I reinstalled ARMA 2/OA, as well as Day Z. However, my friend and myself are now sharing the same character, and if one of us is playing the other can't login due to a "shared CD key" error. In retrospective, installing a friend's game on my computer probably wasn't a great idea - but is there a fix for this? I don't even understand how this is possible, as I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything.

reinstall battle eye on your steam account. this then log into normal AO, it should reset the cd key
