What should a player avoid in Dayz Mod Vanilla?

What requirements have to be reached to stay a live for more than a day by bad conditions like rain?

I am getting really quickly cold in 1.8.6.1 Dayz Mod Vanilla even if I stay inside a house. Is the game meant to be played by a campfire if its cold and rainy outside?

Sitting at a campfire, heatpacks  or staying indoors will help you stay warm. You also have to boil water or cook meat before you consume them to avoid infection.

No, humanity is persistent. It will not reset when you log out.

Obviously you can still move around but when it's raining at night time you will have to stop by a campfire often.
