I did a similar thing today. My bandit victim never heard me sneak up on him. Gave him a fair warning before putting one in his head. nice work.

Yeah well to be fair I didn't really know that he was shooting at another guy. I was caught up in the moment and wanted to stay alive.

Meh, there's nothing wrong with it. In fact it's more fun and generally easier.
