"recognize as friendly" Option

Recommended Posts

I think I must have tried to shoot my friends about five times now, but not because I'm a douchebag. It's because I can't tell if their one of my friends or some random survivor.

Say you're travelling with your friends. Now, in real life, you would recognize you friends using visual cues such as facial recognition, the clothes they're wearing, etc. Now in DayZ EVERY PERSON LOOKS THE SAME to the players eye, but your character, who is a real human in the game should be able to recognize people. So here's what I propose: when you are close to a player, there is an option on the scroll menu called "recognize as friendly", selecting this will place a green marker over the player much like the green marker over survivors in recruit difficulty (the recruit difficulty markers for strangers could be changed to red). The green marker over your friends only show up when thy're in your line of sight and possibly after a short time of looking at them (the amount of time depending on how close or far away they are). This would make it way easier to be in a team and eliminate the confusion that might not exist in real life.
