No they are not.

I have flown in them personally around the 1.4 or 1.5 patch, and they were somewhat buggy and caused server lag, but it was manageable. However, everyone who has flown them since 1.7.1.5 says that both the lagginess and the fuel leak bug have been fixed.

The only theory I have as to why they are not in game is because they are trying to remove the radar functionality from them is it allows helis to see every vehicle around.

Playing ARMA II helps tremendously if you're a new player. There are so many controls to learn and as mentioned, helis to fly.

Agree with OP - Arma2 is a good game. Who knows, players might begin to realise that Arma2 is actually the fps game they want rather than a zombie survival game that is in alpha status and buggy as hell still. Just a suggestion.

im unsure - but leap second issues are as likely as as a ddos. Servers are failing every where.
