been working on boosting my fps messing with configs

Recommended Posts

randomly my gpu started maxing out at 99% which never happened before, and my display drivers started crashing.

so, like a technician would do i scrapped it and started over.

fresh install of dayz, fresh display drivers which were properly uninstalled and reinstalled in safe mode with all traces deleted with a dod wipe.(dod-7 pass is my standard deletion method for all files)

now when i log back into dayz problem is still there!

went back and found the my documents file for dayz SMH... okay deleted the username and dayz config files since steam doesn't know how to.

problem solved!

edited some things to get the game running smooth again, since i don't want 3000 render and object 1700.

no problems. set it to 1600 and 1300.

i go back into game and see i'm only pulling 30-45 fps with 15-25 in cities.

log out, set max frames ahead to 1.......

log back in and boom, 99% gpu load 12-15 frames... now display drivers are crashing again.

delete dayz config, log back in... still 99% gpu load.

note: this does not happen on any other game, it is not my display driver or video card in this instance causing the issue! the only way the display driver could be causing the issue is if a outside config is abusing the driver which would not be the drivers fault for being abused!

Solved: at least i think. it feels smooth and doesn't consistently max out the gpu load on the core... reset max frames and detect frames to default. load still runs high and fps is still low compared to what i had it originally before all this happened however it is now no longer frozen at 98 or 99% load. now it sits around 60-99% and driving around in a v3s sometimes load drops to 15% and then jumps to 45% or so and plays hop scotch around there before slowly going back up.

now running 30-60 fps at all times with advanced external multi-sampling enabled and edge detect external anti aliasing. all thanks to parkcontrol, lower shadow distance, reduced distance 1600 and 1200.

GPU = r9 280 dual x OC to 1135 core, 1450 RAM, 65% fan, 5% power.

(would love to get a second card, could set way higher profiles with smoother performance)

cpu= fx 8350 oc to 4.76

ram= oc to 1800 (using 2 different channel sets)

drive= ramdisk : read/write 4gb/s
