Where do I find stones?

Just wondering. In the wiki it says in the beach, is going there, or using a pickaxe the only way to get stones for sharpening my blades?

i would have thought the quarry NE of the NWAF would be a go'er (not that i've managed to find any there myself yet)

some of the smaller lakes and such scattered about the map, and also some yards are okay for picking stones, otherwise, it's the other two options.

Any stony surface will do. I've picked stones off the ground next to the railroad tracks. Just look down at some rocky looking ground, and hit F until you get an option to search for stones.

 

edit: I just now realized you're talking about big stones. D'oh!
