basicnerf@gmail.com 3 Posted July 2, 2012 My specs:Ram: 4 GB, Quad CoreGraphics Card: Radeon 6520Processor: AMD-A63400 1.40 GHZThere no bad specs, but for some reason I can only get about 15 fps max with this laptop setup. I also want to follow these instructions,http://i.imgur.com/1AQoW.jpgbut the only video card control panel I seem to have is amd vision engine control center, and I can't access the above settings with it. Does any have any tips or help?
humbleuk 76 Posted July 2, 2012 Dude, i doubt you will get any better performance from it, it's a laptop, not a gaming machine.I think you'd need to run this game at a lower res to increase performance maybe an extra 5fps.You could try n overclock, but in all honesty it's not a great setup for arma.Arma is more a cpu hog than anything else, your cpu will be ok but arma eats up cpu and i think yours will struggle. basicnerf@gmail.com 3 Posted July 2, 2012 Really? I thought it could handle a 3 year old game ok, but I guess not? I can run Battlefield 3 on medium.
humbleuk 76 Posted July 2, 2012 arma is the problem, even with top range pc's we get issues.FPS drop is partly down to the mod aswell. This game isn't optimised great and it's old, which is part of the problem. You can try cpu count=4 threads=7 after the exe shortcut and change some arma profile settings but it doesn't help much.I get good performance on my build but some people get better on older pc's... weird game.Edit:You can run this game but it's just not made for todays setups really. cpu hoggin is so bad on this game..gpu hardly gets used either. PkStormx 23 Posted July 2, 2012 yeah that 1.40ghz processor isnt going to do much even if it is a quad core.that graphics card isnt the best either just beacuse its a 6xxx series doesnt mean its the best, the 6 in 6520 is showing what generation then the 520 shows the performance.i believe it goes from 6450-6990.anything before 6770 isnt gaming material.if anything it could be the drivers, but most likely its what the guy above me said, about Arma2 not being optimised.i have a i5 2500k OC@3.7ghz, raedon 6950 twin frozr iii OC'd, 8gb of corsair vengance @1600mhz and i get 45-60fps with the game on high, and this beast has ran everygame but Arma2 maxed with more than 90+ frames.if you dont already you can try to install the free version of Arma because it was lower resolution graphics, besides that i cant help you.
