chopper spawns and player spawns + "civ camps"

Recommended Posts

on 50 player servers a lot of the spawns are devoid of loot within a 1km radius.

the current spawn system also makes it very easy to navigate. a good player will be able to work out where he is to meters in seconds. it shouldn't be like this, you should just pop up someplace random with some random loot, rather than a torch and battery.

by random i really do mean random. rather than a list of about 6 locations you should roll the dice on about 500 spots.

this improves the game by making finding a fresh spawn player just as rare as finding a chopper. no more screwing with freshies.

chopper crashes are a matter of perseverance and whoever finds a v3s first on restart. because they are static at only 73 spots you can get round them in 20 minutes.

in the mod they were way harder to find and rewarded you for travelling to the most distant spots. this would be better for the standalone. half of the map can't even spawn them right now, and the other half is chock full...

as a note, the mod also had "care packages" that were intended for the chernarus military and were dropped upon the infection, these would be a nice addition to dayzSA as more random spawns. they'd spawn rare clothing like skull bandanas, m65 jackets and survival supplies like ration packs and compact stoves, en masse.

main suggestion time:

abandoned civilian camps.

these should also spawn randomly in forested areas and clearings, and should usually contain survival supplies, a tent (obviously), a campfire, mountain clothing and backpacks, camelbaks,  (mountain clothing would be like m65 jackets in rarity, only spawning at these sites and offering superior warmth and cooling as well as enhanced inventory space over most other clothing, though this clothing has hi-vis like the mountain backpack. - making them worth visiting.)
