Failed to start game (app already running).

Hi, I just finished shoveling snow and came inside and wanted to play dayz. I tried to open dayz and it came up with the message "Failed to start game (app already running)." I exited steam and tried to log in again and it's showing the message again, the game is not running, I checked task manager and all that. Any idea what I should do?
