IgnobleBasterd 161 Posted February 22, 2015 this snip. a million times this. Also yeah the tells were so obvious lol. i wouldn't be surprised if she were playing 'bait' for them the whole time. out of our little group we almost always have one of the ladies go initiate contact especially with groups. they do get consistently get treated differently based on nothing other then having a 'female voice'. might as well use that to advantage right? the number of times my wife has gone up to to random groups of kitted-out players yelling on the mic only to be offered all kinds of goodies and frequently guns with ammo included. the funniest encounter we've ever had with this was 2 kids.. sounded like maybe 10-15yrs old tops. heather was immediately invited to their skype chat and asked to tag along with them. it was hilarious when they started looting and kept trying to one-up each other offering her better gear >.< one of them ended up giving her the AKM she killed them with about 2 hrs down the line. And here I am, shooting the ladies as fast as I can as I assume they are bait. :|
xalienax 621 Posted February 22, 2015 And here I am, shooting the ladies as fast as I can as I assume they are bait. :|I know i absolutely don't get it at all. the amount of times people just welcome her into thier groups and give her weapons and trust her for no good reason what so ever (and it's not just heather, the other 2 girls that roll with our group regularly get the same reactions). i mean it's a game, and a harsh one at that. it's not like your ever going to meet them IRL or anything so where this urge to give special treatment comes from is beyond me. especially when it's so common in gaming that it's practically a meme at this point. EvilTigerAce 131 Posted February 26, 2015 I don't freak out. It's just sad people are like this.
infiltrator 275 Posted February 26, 2015 By being friendly you are subject to such scenarios and you should be fully prepared to expect this. I myself do not backstab people (more of a KoS/torture guy), but it's still a way to play the game valid as any other.
dayy 173 Posted February 26, 2015 This thread makes me feel bad, on the prison island, a guy walked in on my team and I. We cuffed him, and he turned out to be pretty chill, out of the blue one of my guys decided to spray our new friend down with an AK....
DURRHUNTER 597 Posted February 26, 2015 Oh cool story you got killed.Rule #1 of DayZ, Trust no one.
todd10k 87 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Hey ... do not even bother.I once played (at the beginning of DayZ) with a buddy from my buddy. We have more than 2 days experienced adventure together. I have I healed, delivered food, ammunition, everything ..As 5er team it came to be that I've handcuffed him for fun. Everyone laughed about the situation (because it was almost new in DayZ), but he tooks it deadly serious.I took 1 Pack Mosin ammo, because I had no more ammunition else.he had 5-6 packs of it left ...At the end, I freed him, he was pissed and wanted me to give him his Mosin Ammo 1 again. When I just wanted to say that I otherwise could not protect the team to help because no ammo ...Suddenly I was shot in the back and he insulted me on TeamSpeak.Games can have an very strong influence on a few persons. Similar to many other things in life too.Anyway, I exhorted him to leave the crude insults already, otherwise I would have quit playing together and kick him from the TS (he was a guest). Then the thing was done for me. No problem. He did not listen to and bang ... a shame that it had to happen. In retrospect, I can not quite understand why some still freak out like that.I mean, we have each other helped us, protected, etc., and then he will not leave 1x ammunition from a total of 6-7 packs, so then I can not help if it comes to an shootout? But it is and remains DayZ .... only very few can be trusted in the long run. So let me get this straight. You handcuff him for "fun", you steal his ammo without permission, then you threaten to kick from from the TS which he was probably invited to, by you or one of your members, and then you kill him because he "wouldn't listen".You are the bad guy in this situation. You shouldn't have restrained him, you most certainly should not have taken his stuff without permission and then when he gets upset by this, which is far more reasonable than i would have been in that situation, you kill him. I'd have put a bullet in your fucking head without so much as a word. You, my friend, need to take a step back and look at your own behaviour, if you can't understand why he's upset. Nope, it is my TS-Server (he is a guest). We played for several hours for 2 days straight. We make fun about us in alot of another situations. Even he makes jokes with rotten food (where we need medicine) and there wasn`t any problem at all for us.And i take one ammo pack out of 5-6 he had, to secure the team (because i had no ammo). We shared everything and even he wasn`t handcuffed for a long time. Maybe just a few minutes. And after that, he gave me no chance to give him the ammo back, because he shot me in the back AND insults me even when i warned him to calm down and listen, that it was only a joke between all the others these hours we played as a group.Even the others think he overreacted alot and couldn`t understand him.So sry about that, but if this is your morale standard after you get alot of things from your playgroup and couldn`t stand another joke for 5-10minutes, shoot one of your teammates in the back...idk, it`s not my type of playing Dayz SA.He got handcuffed for just a few minutes, had alot ammo back, is a guest on a teamspeak-server, got alot from the other teammates (also the one who take 1 ammo from out of 5-6...), shoot one mate in the back, insults him in a very rough language... ;-)yeah, but i agree. We propably had different opinions about that, if you think i had to look at my own behaviour. :) Edited February 26, 2015 by Nebuuuu
