tarekfb 0 Posted February 20, 2015 Launching Dayz from steam, clicking play and this happens: "Preparing to launch DayZ" then nothing. Window closes, nothing happens.Tried:googling (ofc)running from two different computers (one with windows 7, one with 8)running as adminrunning steam as adminrunning both exes in the folderrunning with disabled firewallrunning with -windowTurning off and on computer & steamupdating steam & gameverifying game cache (or whatever its called)installing a diretx file someone mentioneduninstalling & installing DayZSpecs:Windows 8Intel Core Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93 GHzRAM 4.0 GB64-bit(anything else relevant? googled my way to this)Havent been able to play at all, any help is appreciated. Steak and Potatoes 13480 Posted February 20, 2015 Greetings, shut down the game/steam and try these steps to remedy.Go to my computer.C drive or whichever you store your steam games.Program Files (x86)SteamSteamapps.Common.DayZ.Locate and find your DayZ.exe and DayZBE.exe.Right click on each individually and select properties.Deselect the check box under compatability mode press ok then launch your steam/game as administrator.Report back to see if it works for you :). No offense or anything, but, did you honestly expect it to run on 2.93 GHz, or 4 Gigs of RAM. More serious though, what graphics card u got and how much vram? Download and Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=vcredist%202010&form=DLC Also, download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/search/result.aspx?q=vcredist%202013&form=DLCThen Restart your PC. After, make sure you run Steam as an admin though. (Learned that the hard way) If all else fails, JStewart @DayZFeedback, told me to move you Steam folder onto your desktop and uninstall Steam from the control panel then re-install Steam. Uyif 0 Posted March 7, 2015 I have a similar problem. I bought the game 1 day ago and I still haven't played it. When I start the game it imedietly goes to 320x200 resolution and my screen is 1920x1080. Then the logo of the developers is shown on the screen and after a while the logo of dayz also is shown but the game never loads. It's just written 'Wait a moment' and that is it.
