"The instructions at 0x000000000 referenced memory at 0x0000000000. The memory could not be read" when starting DayZ

Recommended Posts

So I purchased DayZ on steam and am running a version of Windows 10 through Parallels on my Mac. I have installed DayZ and steam on Parallels and when I got to start up DayZ I get the error: "The instructions at 0x000000000 referenced memory at 0x0000000000. The memory could not be read." Is there a way to fix this and is it being caused by me running it on Parallels?

Never, really never install a game in a virtualized environment. First of all, the performance is bad, if you ever have 3d acceleration. Then you have input and network lag which would impact on a game like DayZ.

i'm doing the same thing but with windows 7. game ran great for 30 minutes, and when i say great i mean i fuck h1z1. met a player who was friendly on my server and had my first encounter of choosing someones life over my own. too beautiful of a game. logged out an went to sleep at 5:20am or so. tried logging in around 4:20pm and got the same error code. quite literally bought the game, now at 2 days, an can't come close to viewing even a title screen.
