wordsongoku 0 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) Hi guys, I'm running DayZ for over 650 hours and I followed a lot of tutorials to increase my FPS which worked out pretty well so far. In towns my FPS go down a bit but it's still okay for me but sometimes I have heavy FPS drops that start after some playing time and seem to be caused by the ingame sun. When I run towards the sun my frames drop to something like 10 FPS, when I run in another direction (with the sun in my back) my FPS go up again and everything works. A quick fix to stop these lags is to set HDR quality from either very low to low or from low to very low. After doing that my FPS are okay again even though sometimes it happens again after 10-20 mins and I have to change HDR quality again. I have no idea why this happens to me and I have not found any answers on the web. All this does NOT happen every time I run towards the sun but it often starts after some playing time. I will add 2 screenshots where you can see that my GPU usage goes up to 99% when looking towards the sun direction, when I turn 180° around the GPU usage goes down to something like 60-70% and my FPS are back. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? My setup (not the newest but should be still ok to play): Intel Core i7 870, nVidia 750 GTX and 16 GB DDR3 1600 RAM. http://oi60.tinypic.com/16lcv2e.jpg ( Screenshot 1: looking towards sun 99% GPU usage)http://oi58.tinypic.com/vpx9o0.jpg ( Screenshot 2: turned around 180°, sun in my back, 65% GPU usage, no lags/FPS loss) Thanks!
