Bonappetit 117 Posted February 7, 2015 In a matter of few hours I've lost 2 guns when I was trying to drink/eat. Just to clarify I was double carrying and my in-hand weapons just disappear. I might have been on persistence off server but I had no idea they would just vanish in front of my eyes like that, thought it was only when the server resets. Anyone noticed this or can tell me what am I doing wrong and perhaps how to prevent this as I would like to give one of my weapons to a friend. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Fern Baron 128 Posted February 7, 2015 Check your inventory and scroll to the bottom to see if your second rifle (one in hands) is there. It will sometimes be stored at the bottom but not be visible on your toon. Just move it back to your hands to reequip. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
chokko 45 Posted February 7, 2015 this occurred to me in 0.52 also. I would walk away 50m or so, come back, and it would then be visible. only 1/2hr ago I was on persistence on server...gun dropped whilst I was eating. I walked away, came back..couldn't find it still. server restarted about 5 mins later, and after the restart the gun was lying on ground where I had been eating. Fern Baron 128 Posted February 7, 2015 If it doesn't auto store to the bottom of your inventory it may be dropped to the ground. I've had many different reactions when this happens. If you're lucky, the gun will drop to your feet and you will be able to simply pick it back up. Other instances it has jumped to a close-by spawn location, so check all your typical gear spawn locations in the vicinity. And if you're unlucky, it's gone.Just be sure to give your inventory and surrounding area a good search before confirming the item disappeared. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Only way to ensure you do not loose the weapon in your hands is to press the red 'X' to manually drop it first before then eating / drinking / what ever. Its a new bug with the 0.53 patch. Ive also lost a couple of weapons until i figured out to drop it first (Just to note - if you loose the gun and relog - it will usually be on the ground where you lost it - You just cant see it without relogging for some reason) Edited February 7, 2015 by kipps 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Pettyrelic 0 Posted February 7, 2015 I found M4A1 for the first time yesterday. I was overjoyed, but as I was returning to my camp, I found all attachments but the buttstock gone. Curiously, I can still fire it without the handguard and the optics. It looks very sad though. The first mistake in DayZ you can (will?) do is to be happy about what you have. DJ18 13 Posted February 7, 2015 Lost your weapon? Here is what you do. When you are carrying double weapons or even one and it disappears when you pull out an axe or another object. The best thing to do is to go back to the exact place you pulled out the item. Log off and then log back in. You should be able to see it. jurionov37 22 Posted February 7, 2015 Its simple as this: If you perform any action that puts your second rifle down, then it will be visible on the ground until you make one step in any direction, then it will be stored at the bottom of your inventory...BUT if you drop it somewhere afterwards(1...2...3 hours of playing, it doesnt matter) it will drop the weapon on the spot where you last dropped it.So if you want to keep both weapons you have to: 1.perform action that drops second weapon 2. move a little in any direction(your rifle will then be stored at the bottom of your inventory) 3. drop your rifle on the ground manually 4. complete your action(eating, drinking w/e) 5. pick your gun up again.
