Complete Freeze at random times during play

When I play DayZ the game will randomly freeze my whole computer and i cant do anything except hold down the power button and restart the machine. I've looked at some other threads and they seem to suggest that it's an overheating problem.

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3.10GHz

RAM: 8.00 GB [4 GB X2] DDR3-1600

GPU: 2X AMD Radeon HD 6770 - 1GB - CrossFire Mode

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3

Main Hard drive: 500 GB HARD DRIVE -- 16M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s

I got the same issue, first these small white particles start poppin up and disappearing rapidly, then theres even smaller green dots flying around the screen and then in a minute or two my computer freezes. It shouldn't be overheating issue, my processor is fine and my gfx isn't hotter than 80C.

Running on Intel 2core 6600 @ 2.40ghz

2gb ddr2

radeon x1950

I have no real fps issues with the lowest gfx settings but these random freezes are really annoying. They seemed to get more frequent with the latest 2 or 3 beta patches :dodgy:

Edit: No more freezing or glitching graphics after changing to windowed mode.
