deebz1234 243 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) basically sum all this up 30 fps in cities is normal on whatever rig you find...its the limit of the optimization of dayz and its multiplayer woes. dying light unoptimized?? i get 100 fps constant in dying light, city, building, etc.only thing i did was remove the film grain. (somehow +10fps) not sure what you mean by unoptimized either. Edited January 29, 2015 by deebz1234

LORDPrometheus 21 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Optimization for most games is the last step in the development process.Basically the devs spend a few weeks-months trimming down intensive processes and improving rendering systems. The end result is better performance with no drop in quality. However if the game is already released in some capacity such as how DayZ is optimization can also be split into several small bits over the course of development. The approach will help keep performance at adequate levels throughout development since each un optimized update strains the existing architecture and makes things slower. In my opinion attaching a renderer upgrade and some memory leak fixes as a small part of the next update is probably wise. Also the enfusion engine isn't exactly the pice of horse **** people are claiming it is. It's simply not running efficiently. The current FPS issues are a result of the ongoing development process and will be addressed in time. This being said there is only so much eye candy and fancy new items you can add before looks matter less than FPS.There is a saying that the architect designs the building the engineer makes it work. The DayZ devs (as dedicated and well meaning as they are) need to stop playing the architect so much and start being engineers. deebz1234 243 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) i posted my rig(s) on page 1 but the dying light rig is 5820k 4.6ghz 8gb ddr4 2666 gtx 970 rapeage first game to evenly use all my cores and my graphics card wants to melt as well, its fucking sweet. dl has a noise filter and film grain overlay, which eats up a few fps but makes the game look less crispy.so a popular mod is to remove it. google, steam forum has all the infohttp://greengamers.com/dying-light-how-to-disable-film-grain-increase-fps-performance/ just dont disable shadows unless you have to for performance Edited January 29, 2015 by deebz1234
mugur 123 Posted January 29, 2015 thank you for the info. after reading a lot of comments(http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/dying-light-graphics-and-performance-guide) i tend to keep my original assumption. i end offtopic here.
