Questions about saving tents and vehicles

I've looked all over the forums and couldn't find anything answering these questions:

1) Are tents suppose to transfer with your character when you log-in to a different server? If so, do they disappear from the original server where they were setup?

2) Do tents disappear when you log-out (preventing other players from looting while you're offline)?

3) Do vehicles transfer with your character when you log-in to a different server? If so, do they disappear from the original server where they were built/fixed?

4) Do vehicles disappear when you log-out (preventing other players from stealing them while you're offline)?

They are server-bound (both) and do not travel with you across servers, and no, neither disappear when you logout, they stay where you leave them, and anyone can access them, so hide your tents/cars.

1)No, placed tents stay on the server! packed tents can be moved with you

2)no you can loot other people's tents, hide them well

Does that mean you could:

-Collect vehicle parts on less-populated servers (where you'd have a decreased chance of being shot by bandits).

-Drop the parts you can't carry in your inventory.

-Log-in to a populated server.

-Set up the tent.

-Log back into the original less-populated server and retrieve the remaining dropped parts.

*Keep repeating this process until all parts are transferred to a more populated server*

no, because every time you log back and forth between servers, the rejoin abuse protection would take effect, where you'd lay incapacitated and vulnerable for 12 minutes each time you log on.. unless you'd be willing to wait that long.

Well if it takes you longer than 12 minutes to re-find the parts on a populated server and you're in a secure area, then I'd say it's worth it. However, what are the chances that the items automatically disappear by the time you rejoin and wait out the 12 minutes before being able to pick them up again?

if i remember correctly, there is a decay timer on items dropped.
