okami (DayZ) 129 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi all, I`m playing DayZ for a week now without any problems. Today we tried to play with a second player using the same internet connection at my home. We were kicked by BattleEye all the time because of horrible pings. Connecting alone I have a ping of max 30, most of the time less. With the second player its suddenly up to more than 700.We are both running steam version, up to date version of beta and dayz mod updated by sixupdater. My internet connection is 16 Mbit down and 1 up (iirc) and not a problem if playing alone, even if i have a big steam download running in the background. Any ideas? I cant imagine there is such a increase of used bandwidth with just a second player? Did anyone manage to play with two players from the same subnet?Thanksokami
RavenOne 1 Posted July 1, 2012 Its because both of your computers are trying to connect over the same ports and its causing conflicts figuring out which computer is which. Try adding "-port=2350" to your shortcut or Steam properties.First computer do nothing.Second computer do -port=2350Third computer do -port=2352So on and so forth, but continue with at-least 2 digit increases. This may or may-not work but its something you can try. okami (DayZ) 129 Posted July 1, 2012 Hm now I´m really confused, I changed the ports (did it in sixlauncher -> options -> additional startup parameters) but the game just hung at the connection to the server. However by pressing escape and using the ingame server browser i was able to join a server on both machines and ping looked great. But I was not sure if using the ingame browser might override the -port switch so I tried to connect again without the -port on both machines - and its working fine now. Two players on the same server, ping 30 without any changes. Maybe it was some heavy load on the servers on sunday, i will play around with the settings again tomorrow. But thanks so far for your help!
