Direct Communication Issues

I play alone and dont have a mic, so I try to talk to people with text using Direct Communication,

to this date no one has replied in either text or mic speak,

in some cases i have been standing right next to players.

is direct communication working? if not how can I fix it?

( I use a steam version of ArmA2co and I'm up to date on everything and the servers I play are too and have Direct Communication enabled)

I tried again with a buddy today and he actually received text from me send via direct com but I couldn't get his reply neither voice nor text.

There is no known solution I guess and the only thing you can do is post another bug report about this.

is there at least an idea of why we cant hear any one? does this mean people can hear me?

if you have VON disabled you will not get the direct channel.

Voice over network. It also depends on the server's setting of this, if it's off direct will be broken for most people, not all.

i dont have a mic and i dont use von. and surely that wouldnt effect direct communication text chat?
