FN-FAL

Recommended Posts

Is this weapon worth keeping? I decided that the barracks were too dangerous so I started wandering the map, looking for a vehicle and/or heli crash site.

I found the heli and an FN-FAL. Why is this weapon only found in here? Should I keep it? I already have a good sniper and sidearm.

Pretty bad iron sights

High damage

Burst mode + .308 cartridge = CQC powerhorse

Rare ammo

If you have enough space, keep it as long as you have ammo for it

Throw it away once you're out of magazines - unless you want to keep searching for heli crash sites

It's a powerful medium to long range weapon. If you have ammo for it, use it, or stuff it in your pack, if not, stuff it in your tent, and pray for ammo.

If a guy with a M4 catches you running in medium range with your sniper rifle your as good as dead. I normally keep the long range in the pack, and pull it out when needed. Medium range weapon is where you want to be, judging by the threats faced in DayZ.

In less of course you camp, and pure sniping fits your game play. I'm constantly mixing it up, in close with zombies and other players, so any sort of sniper rifle is completely out of the question.

I usually run around with my sidearm and snipe if I see a threat. I took the FN-FAL and I'm using it at the moment.

Thanks

I'd drop it for an ACOG M16 or something unless it had rare scopes.

FN FAL has a low recoil and can easily kill an enemy quickly with 5(max) rapid bullets @ 1 sec in semi mode at 250 m, or by firing 2 or 3 times in burst mode at 200 m. I'd say it's around 5x times better than M4A2.
