Change server - Character saved?

Hello,

(Sorry for my bad English)

If I play today on Server x with my Character some time and get some equipment, logout and play tomorrow on a other Server y, I start then with my old saved(?) Character, or i must connect to Server x to play my old Character?

Are the Characters saved at a global Dayz-databank?
