having a problem during install

okay some basic info first windows is on /c steam is on /e and i followed these ( http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9314 ) instructions to the t. everything seems to have gone smoothly but when i try to launch "arma 2 combined operations" all i get is a flash of a dos prompt for about half a second. my question is why?

you sure your clicking on the beta oa shortcut you have created?

Go to the Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead directory (for example C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead) and right-click -> edit on .cmd file "_runA2CO_beta.cmd". Search for ":run" near the end of the file. Add ";@dayz" without quotes to "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca".

Run "_runA2CO_beta.cmd" and enjoy playing!

Did just what you said and when i launch it an error box comes up saying - No entry '.profilePathDefault' - then i cancel and the tickboxe appears, but then another error pops up saying "Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0" and then is shuts down completely...

Yes, i realised that i had downloaded a version a little older but downloaded the new one. Still getting the same errors though.

I also have my steam located on another harddrive than the default C: drive

Did you run the game from the '.cmd' that you edited?
